Swiss Embassy Staff in Tunis Village

Tunis village in Fayoum was the site of the annual Swiss Embassy Staff outing 2017.
Tunis village widely celebrated pottery culture is in large part owed to Swiss entrepreneur Evelyne Porret. Since the 1960s Ms. Porret has been living in Egypt and setting up pottery workshops for children in the countryside and in Upper Egypt, eventually establishing her own pottery school in Tunis village. Over the years the school has significantly contributed to the development of the community.
The excursion also provided a chance for the team to experience Fayoum’s beautiful landscape including its desert terrain and lakes, as well as its Bedouin culture.
