Egyptian Swiss Radiology Project, Reforming and Upgrading.

This week marked the successful completion of a long-term collaborative health reform project between Egypt and Switzerland.

The project, in which both governments invested more than 40 million CHF (350 million EGP), upgraded the radiology departments in more than 220 hospitals across Egypt. The project started more than a decade ago and will come to an end in June 2016. Radiology is key to diagnose and eventually treat health problems. Upgraded radiology services have an immediate effect on the quality of treatment for Egyptian patients. Egypt’s government-run hospitals provide some 3.3 million radiology services per year, showing the important impact of this project.

Egyptian Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Emad, and Switzerland’s Ambassador to Egypt, Markus Leitner celebrating the event.
