Farida Osman

(January 18, 1995)

 

Named the Best Female Athlete in Africa by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) in 2017.

​

Farida is an Egyptian competitive swimmer who specializes in butterfly and freestyle events. An All-Africa Games gold medalist and Egyptian national champion and record-holder.

​

She started to swim at the age of five at the Gezira Sporting Club in Cairo where she joined the syncronized swimming team, at the age of eleven she joined the swimming team and at the age of 12 represented Egypt at the 11th Pan Arab Cames in Cairo. She was the youngest athlete on the team and yet she broke the Arab record for the 50m butterfly becoming the youngest Egyptian and Arab athlete to ever win the event and break the record.

​

Farida holds the senior national records for all the butterfly, freestyle and backstroke events, as well as African records in the 50m and 100m butterfly.

​

Farida is the fastest female swimmer in Egypt and Africa,

Nour El Sherbini

(November 1st, 1995)

 

Born and raised in Alexandria, Nour started playing squash when she was six and started participating in tournaments before she was eight.

​​

Nour is holding the world No.1 spot since May 2016 when she was 20 years old becoming the seond youngest female squash player to reach that spot.

​

Nour El Sherbini is one of the most exciting female players on the PSA World Tour and has made history at both the World Championship and British Open - the two most prestigious tournaments on the PSA World Tour.

 

Nour is PSA's 2018  Women's Player of the Year.

Irene Youssef

​

Irene demonstrated her passion for motorbiking since 2004 by participating in Autocross Egypt and has been a professional racer ever since and a team member enjoying proper sponsorship.

​

Irene is riding the heavy powerful Suzuki boulevard motorcycle.

​

Ingie Elmor

​

Being the first winner at the King of the Lagoon race placed Elmor on the map and earned her the "Queen of the Air" title.

​

After practicing for four years, Elmor gained both recognition and fame after starring in Coca-Cola’s 2015 Ramadan commercial that helped to shift the feminine interest towards kitesurfing.

 

Simply put, Elmor is one of the reasons kitesurfing is a thing in Egypt right now.

Manal Rostom

(October 30, 1979)

​

Manal plans to be the first Arab woman to climb the Mount Everest, in the process she also aims at changing the world's views on who are veiled Muslim women, her facebook group "Surviving Hijab" is followed by 600k members.

​

Manal is a pharmacist by profesion and an athlete by nature who participated in several marathons around the world in Luxor, Dubai, Kuwait, Amman, Jordan, Great Wall of China, London and Madrid. The success of Egyptian Omar Samra in climbing Mount Everest in May 2007 draw her attention, she tested her abilities by climbing Mount St. Catherine (2,629 meters) in Sinai Egypt in 2009, and it was love at first sight.


In 2012, Manal climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest mountain peak in Africa with a height of 5,895 meters, then in 2013 Mount Kenya, of 5,199 meters, followed in 2015 by the highest peak in Europe, the summit of Elbrus in Russia of 5,642 meters. Finally in 2016 Manal climbed the 3,563-meter-high Mount Himalaya base.

 

Her pursuit to introduce the modern contemporary image of veiled women was triggered by - in her own words - quote:  "In every exploratory expedition I go to, I am often the only veiled Arab among all the women, and the reaction is like 'Oh my God!' we did not know you were allowed to climb." unquote.

​

Manal plans to be the very first veiled Arab woman to reach the top of Mount Everest, in this respect climbing the Aconcagua in Argentina of 6,960 meters is a mandatory precondition.

​

Her pursuits attracted the attention of the international women's sportswear company Nike to be their first veiled athlete woman model.

Radwa El Ghamry

(June 1st, 1983)

​

Professional Skydiver and Inspirational Public Speaker who has deeply motivated Arab women with her passion for skydiving and breaking barriers and obstacles to achieve her dreams. 

 

Radwa is a widow mother of 2 living in Dubai, She started her passion of parachuting as a hobby in Cairo when she was only 15 years old, having her first jump then. After moving to Dubai wit her late husband she resumed skydiving activities in Sky Dive Dubai. She achieved her A license and then was selected as Team Captain and Manager of the UAE women’s national skydiving team which is the first Arab civil female skydiving team in the world. Radwa also obtained the Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) Instructor rating, and also the Tandem Master rating.

​

With over 2000 jumps, Radwa continues to inspire young women all around the world.

Hedaya Malak
(April 21, 1993)

​

Tournament after another, the Egyptian taekwondo ninja Hedaya Malak keeps on raising the Egyptian flag way too high with her unparalleled achievements.

​

Hedaya took up taekwondo at the age of six, and won Egypt's championship at the age of 14.

​

This title qualified her for the London 2012 Olympics reaching the quarter finals, and by Rio 2016 Olympics she won the bronze medal.
