The Swiss Embassy, in collaboration with WorldFish Egypt and CARE Egypt, have been supporting the aquaculture sector since 2011 through various projects implemented in many governorates including Kafr El Sheikh and Fayoum.
The projects aim at boosting production of inexpensive, nutritious and safe fish from sustainable aquaculture systems. Among the biggest beneficiaries are women fish retailers for whom the projects are providing skills training, subsidized equipment and access to low-cost credit to enable them to overcome their daily problems and boost sales.
