More than 700 invited guests celebrated Switzerland’s national day (traditionally held on August 1st) at the Swiss Residence in Maadi, Cairo.
In his speech, Ambassador Markus Leitner highlighted the many facets of Swiss-Egyptian cooperation, including the traces that the Swiss people have left in Egypt.
The guests enjoyed a musical performance by the Swiss band Lia-Seddio – MarcoLia Duo Project, whose upbeat music merges elements of pop, jazz and funk, amid scrumptious servings of Swiss raclette, sausages, ice cream and chocolate.
